A night in the desert –

Unfortunately, not a lot to report here.
I had been excited by the prospect of
glamping in the desert at Canyon Lodge
Desert Agafay. It all sounded very different, but
unfortunately, I was very ill for the whole journey from Essouira
with frequent stops by our patient driver.
By the time we got there all I wanted to
do was sleep which I did along with a long cold bath which ran at a trickle.. (it was better the next morning)
Alexandra went off to lie by the pool (by
the white tent)
I was strong enough to see the
“entertainment” in the evening, but only ate rice ….
I’d packed my tripod to take some night time-exposure photos but didn’t have the energy …
The next day we had a knowledgeable and
good driver to take us back to Marakesh.
On the way we stopped by a reservoir at Lalla
Takerkoust for a bite
And by the time we
got back to the Riad (where they had upgraded us to the “Sultan” suite) and I had a nap whilst Alexandra had a massage/Hammam
In
the USA the Colorado River is flowing at half it's
historical rate and Lake Mead behind the Hoover dam is critically low
